ESM Bursary

Bursary History and Description

The Etobicoke Suzuki Music Bursary Fund honours Margot Jewell and Tricia Balmer.  Margot founded Etobicoke Suzuki Music (ESM) in 1982, and Tricia established the school’s cello program in 1990. Together, they embodied the Suzuki spirit in creating a nurturing, supportive environment for all students while maintaining high teaching standards for ESM’s music programs.  They strongly believe that high quality music education should be available to every child.

This bursary will be presented annually to one or more students at ESM who are in financial need. The successful applicant will be a student enrolled a minimum of one full school year at ESM. The bursary funds will be applied towards either ESM school tuition fees (not including enrichment fees, instrument rental fees, or private lesson fees) or a SAA-approved Suzuki summer institute.

Bursary Application

Applications are accepted throughout the year and submissions will be held in confidence with the members of the ESM Bursary Fund Committee. Awarded candidates will not be named.
